Stereo cassette deck that uses tape selector and HD ferrite head to bring out the performance of chrome tape.

Equipped with a tape selector that can be used by switching between chrome tape and conventional tape with a single switch.

The head is equipped with an HD (high density) ferrite head.
Compared to conventional Permalloy heads, this head has higher hardness and superior abrasion resistance. In addition, the sound quality design with special consideration for electromagnetic conversion characteristics creates a sharp magnetic field with little distortion up to high frequencies, improving recording and reproduction capability. The shielding between tracks provides superior crosstalk characteristics.
In addition, the gap, which has the most influence on the characteristics of the head, is processed with high precision by ultra-precision grinding equipment to improve linearity and phase difference. In addition, other parts than the core are also covered with ferrite and mirror surface finish, which is combined with TEAC's unique hyperbolic curve to realize excellent head touch.
Since the HD ferrite head has less loss, it requires less bias current and is advantageous for chrome tape, which requires more bias current.

The mechanism section is equipped with a small high-efficiency hysteresis synchronous outer rotor motor developed especially for cassettes. Since the rotor (rotor) rotates outside the stator, the flywheel effect is large and smooth rotation is obtained.

It is equipped with large VU meters that are independent on the left and right.
Since the scale of this meter is an expanded type that is close to a straight line, the interval between the scales at low level and high level is wide, making level monitoring easy.

Equipped with an independent pause mechanism that can be locked during playback, recording, or stop.
It is also characterized by low leakage flux, low heat generation, and high starting torque.

It is equipped with a tape run running lamp, and while the tape is running, the light stripes move in the running direction to indicate that the tape is rotating.

Equipped with a 3-digit tape adapter.

It is equipped with an amplifier circuit that takes into consideration the dynamic margin of the saturation point anomaly of the tape, enabling higher quality recording and playback.

Equipped with an input terminal for microphone.

A slide volume is used a slide volume.

Equipped with a DIN connector terminal.

There were exclusive acrylic covers and Dolby units sold separately.
