Commentary
This is a full-auto player developed in pursuit of usability based on Sony's proud "3-stage block" rotational technology.
The rotating system uses a 3-stage block consisting of a linear BSL motor, magne-disk speed detection, and quartz lock.
By adopting a linear BSL motor without brushes and slots in the DC motor, the mechanical torque change called cogging is eliminated, and quiet and smooth rotation is realized. Moreover, high torque is obtained due to high efficiency.
In the magnet-disk speed detection, a multi-gap head detects the mean value of the detection signal, which is magnetized at high density on the turntable, and detects minute changes in the rotational speed. Also, since the generated signal frequencies are relatively high, servo compensation is possible up to the higher frequencies of the flutter components.
It uses a quartz lock and utilizes the high oscillation accuracy of quartz to obtain stable rotational characteristics even with changes in ambient temperature and power supply voltage and frequency.
The tone arm is equipped with a low-mass straight arm to take advantage of the light needle pressure / high compliance cartridge.
It is equipped with an opto-electronic disc size selector that automatically selects a phonograph record and enables accurate tone arm lead-in.
Equipped with a muting mechanism, there is no noise when the needle tip touches the record board.
The cabinet uses SBMC for superior internal loss and strength.
The cartridge is equipped with MM type cartridge XL-200.
Equipped with a needle pressure setting guide and a disk centering guide that makes it easy to place a 30 cmLP board.
By using the separately sold synchronized remote control unit, synchronized play with the cassette deck is possible.
