Commentary
A CD player with improved usability with functions such as 20-key direct music selection.
Equipped with a 2 x over-sampling digital filter, the frequency band between the music component and the unwanted noise component is widened. This allows the use of an analog filter with a moderate attenuation characteristic at the latter stage to improve sound quality.
S servo is used for the servo circuit.
In this circuit, when the newly developed IC detects dirt on the disk, the microcomputer calculates the size of the dirt and determines the amount of servo required. This greatly improves the torless capability and reduces the disturbance of servo current caused by dirt on the disk, thereby minimizing the adverse effect on analog systems.
It is equipped with a unilinear converter system using 3rd generation LSI.
In this system, the digital filter, EFM demodulator, and D/A converter LSIs are synchronized with one master clock to keep the analog sound quality clear.
These LSIs were developed exclusively for CDs. By increasing the degree of integration, peripheral circuits are simplified and reliability is improved.
A newly designed optical unit is used for the pickup part.
This unit is a lightweight and compact version of the 3-beam pickup that boasts high reading accuracy, and realizes speedy access and high reliability.
The power supply section uses a Route 6 stabilized power supply with independent digital, audio and other components.
To further improve sound quality, we have adopted a copper foil condenser for audio, a non-magnetic oxygen-free copper heat sink, and an OC power cord with polarity display.
The vibration-proof new mechanical deck and main circuit board are separated and fixed to the chassis, reducing the influence of the rotating system on audio and digital circuits.
The legs are equipped with large special insulators to reduce external vibration.
It has a direct selection function with 20 keys.
It has a 4-color display with a 20-song music calendar.
It is equipped with functions such as shuffle play, RMS of up to 20 songs, 5-mode repeat of 1 song / all song / A-B / program / shuffle (A-B is only from remote control), auto space for 3 seconds between songs, index search, etc.
Equipped with an auto-start function that can be combined with an external timer to start playing at the desired time.
Equipped with a headphone port with volume.
It is equipped with a sync terminal, so it can be easily connected to a Sony deck.
Wireless remote control is included.
