Commentary
This is a stereo cassette deck that inherits the design philosophy of the T-838 and refines the original cassette deck such as the shortest signal path, no vibration and no resonance design, and ease of use.
For recording and reproducing heads, PC-OCC (single-crystal high-purity oxygen-free copper) winding is used for the wire, and for reproduction, a laser amorphous head with excellent frequency characteristics is used.
Equipped with the Dolby HX PRO, which is useful for recording digital sources and other sources with high frequency components. By always controlling the bias amount to an appropriate value according to the amount of the high frequency component of the music signal, the high frequency characteristics and dynamic range are greatly improved.
For each block of amplifier, control and FL and FL display is equipped with an exclusive power supply with four independent windings.
In particular, the amplifier transformer winding uses bifilar winding with oxygen-free copper wire to improve sound quality. In addition, the amplifier uses high-speed active servo regulators to reduce distortion by quickly stabilizing power voltage fluctuations caused by music signals.
It uses direct construction to minimize the signal path greatly and to achieve an appropriate unit layout.
In the input block, the recording level volume and the recording balance volume are installed close to the input terminal and extended by a shaft. By placing the volume on the shortest path between the input terminal and the recording amplifier, the wire length is shortened.
In the amplifier block, the recording and playback channels and L and R channels are clearly separated so that the signal flow can be straightened. This arrangement prevents internal signal degradation and interference between each block.
Pioneer's original cassette stabilizers are used. The special plastic stabilizers installed in the cassette holder and the special rubber stabilizers installed in the tape transport hold the cassette half firmly from both sides, reducing wow and flutter components generated by vibration.
It uses a honeycomb chassis with high rigidity and excellent vibration damping characteristics, large insulators, and a die-cast head base.
By adopting gold plated terminals and copper heat sinks, sound quality is improved.
It is equipped with a CD-DECK synchro function. In combination with a Pioneer CD player, you can edit and record with various auto-linked operations such as synchronized recording start and auto trackback REC with one touch.
Equipped with a meter range switching function, it is possible to switch between the normal wide range mode of -30dB to + 8 dB and the expanded range mode of -3dB to + 12 dB, which displays around 0 dB in 1 dB steps.
When the FL display is not necessary, such as after the recording level is set or during playback, the Display OFF function is installed to turn off the display, preventing noise from the display.
Equipped with an EverHold and Oatley Set switchable peak hole meter that keeps the sharp peak of the digital source accurately held.
In addition to the tape counter, it is equipped with a 2-mode counter, a time counter that displays the elapsed time of recording and playback.
It is equipped with a music search that can start up to 15 songs in both forward and backward directions.
It is equipped with a bias adjustment function which can set the bias level suitable for each tape.
It is equipped with auto REC mute which can make 4 seconds silence part with one touch.
Equipped with cassette illumination that is convenient for tape leftover quantity check.
Wireless remote control is included.
