Commentary
A two track stereo tape deck with a plug-in head-unit exchange system and multi-stage tape selector.
The head uses a 3-head system with a short tape path and less tape vibration.
The read head uses a hyperbolic permalloy head with a large core for excellent in-line characteristics and excellent tape-touch characteristics, improving phase characteristics, frequency characteristics, S/N, S/N and crosstalk. The recording head also uses a hyperbolic type for excellent balance in sensitivity, bias characteristics and magnetization characteristics.
The head unit is designed to be plug-in and replaceable, and can be easily replaced with a separately sold 4-track head unit and 3 screws.
The 38cm/sec Pro Speed equalizer uses switching between NAB and IEC (BTS) standards.
Compared to NAB (50 μ s) for general use, IECBTS (35 μ s), used by broadcasting stations, provides more high-frequency compensation during recording and less compensation during playback. As a result, the SN ratio is improved by approximately 3 dB in the high-frequency range. An excellent source with a wider dynamic range can be enjoyed by shifting the noise distribution.
In addition, the tape selector has 3 levels of bias (STD, + 10%, + 20%) and 4 levels of equalizer (NAB/EC switching), so it can be used for various types of tapes.
The drive mechanism uses a 2-speed hysteresis synchronous motor, a large flywheel with a diameter of 100 mm, and a special induction type reel motor with a 6-pole inner rotor to ensure stable tape travel.
Vibration is suppressed by the combination of die cast frame and 5 mm thick aluminum chassis with high plane accuracy.
Equipped with a peak indicator using LED, it responds quickly when the peak level of the recording source is + 6 dB and displays a lamp.
In addition, it is equipped with a double-scale large-scale level meter that employs a two stage switching system of + 3 db and + 6 db, enabling high-level recording monitoring.
All the operation buttons are soft touch solenoid control.
The PLAY timing control circuit can be switched from the REW (FF) state to the PLAY state without passing through the STOP button. By turning the pause switch ON/OFF as needed, the PLAY timing control circuit reduces the timing time to 0 and allows the tape to start playing immediately.
These buttons are mechanical lock so that you can preset them even when the power is off. You can record your absence or play an alarm by combining with an optional timer.
The amplifier for microphone uses a 2-stage silicon transistor amplifier.
It is equipped with an automatic bias current stabilizing circuit that maintains bias stability.
An electronic switching type equalizer switching circuit using FET and diode is adopted to eliminate click noise.
It uses a lock-type tension arm that is easy to apply tape.
Microphone and line mixing is possible.
The tape monitor switch and recording mode switch are independent lever switches on the left and right.
The pose lever is a lockable lever type.
Comes with a leather carrying case with a front cover.
