A record player that uses a brushless DC servo motor and carbon fiber reinforced arm.
The drive motor is a brushless DC servo D. D. motor using a Hall element.
The motor used in the PL 1800 is a brushless type. Three hall elements detect the position of magnetic signals magnetized on the inner surface of the rotor in a contactless manner. Changes in magnetic field due to rotation are reliably converted into changes in current. In addition, since it is a high-torque type with a starting torque of 1kg-cm, start-up time is fast.
The servo circuit uses a magnetic pulse detection type.
In this system, a magnetic pulse for velocity detection is magnetized on the lower surface of the rotor, and a printed circuit board with a pulse pattern is installed on the lower surface facing the magnetic pulse. The frequency generated by the rotation of the rotor is detected and an AC signal is sent to the servo circuit. This system has extremely low impedance of the signal source and high stability against changes in temperature and humidity.
The turntable has a dynamically balanced inertial mass of 280kg-cm2Turntable is adopted.
This turntable, shaft and bearing are carefully polished by an automatic precision machine to obtain high accuracy.
The strobe lights on the periphery of the turntable are lit by a waveform shaping circuit, and are easier to see than conventional strobe lights.
The power supply to the drive circuit is from a stable circuit with a large current capacity, and stability is improved by providing sufficient temperature compensation. Stable values for temperature drift and time drift are also obtained.
The tone arm uses a reinforced pipe made of carbon fiber. By weaving long carbon fiber into a mesh, we have succeeded in increasing the strength against twisting and reducing the effective mass. This reduces the moment of inertia of the arm to a very small value, increases the ability to follow the sound groove, and also improves the partial resonance that occurs in the middle range.
The head shell also uses carbon fiber to reduce the moment of inertia.
A special angular contact bearing has been adopted for the horizontal and vertical rotating part of the arm. This reduces friction and improves tracing capability. In addition, milling and precision polishing are applied to the finish to prevent the degradation of mid-range characteristics caused by the rattling of the bearing part.
In addition, the anti-skating mechanism uses a lever type that uses two angular contact bearings, and it is processed without losing horizontal sensitivity.
This mechanism has the advantages of simple structure, high stability during use, and no aging.
The cabinet uses a rigid fiberboard (MDF) that extracts only the hardest fiber (cellulose) of all wood and compresses it into a 20-mm-thick plate. This plate is used and reinforced effectively to reduce howling.
Uses an insulator that combines specially shaped rubber and aluminum die-cast.
The height of this insulator is adjustable.
The height and vertical tracking angle of the arm can be adjusted.
Fine speed adjustment is possible within ± 6%.
Equipped with pin jack output terminal for easy attachment and detachment of output cord.
Also comes with a low-capacity cord (50 pf or less / 1m).
