Commentary
This is a stereo cassette deck that realizes high-quality recording and playback by designing the head part, tape travel system and amplifier part in total.
The head uses a 3-head system that uses a recording / playback combination head to stabilize the inline and phase characteristics of both channels and to prevent the frequency characteristics from deteriorating due to azimuth deviation. In addition, the head uses a special ferrite material with superior high-frequency characteristics, input-resistant characteristics, and wear-resistant characteristics to achieve wide frequency characteristics and a high SN ratio even during high-level recording.
In addition, since the erasing head is compatible with metal tapes, newly developed special alloy with high saturation magnetic flux density and excellent abrasion resistance is adopted. Moreover, by processing the core made of special alloy into a thin plate of 0.1 mm and laminating it, temperature rise due to eddy current loss is minimized, and high erasing performance of over 76 dB (1 kHz) is obtained.
The mechanism uses a closed-loop dual capstan system to ensure good head touch by keeping the tape tension constant and to reduce the occurrence of drop out, level fluctuation, and modulation noise due to tape vibration.
The drive section uses a two motor system that uses an electronically controlled DC motor with a built-in generator for constant speed operation and a DC high-torque motor for the reel drive. In addition, the flywheel effect with a large moment of inertia has been added to achieve excellent characteristics.
Equipped with automatic tape slack removal mechanism (ATLC).
A recording amplifier with excellent linearity is introduced in the amplifier section to support metal tapes with a wide dynamic range of high frequencies.
A microprocessor based 2-color FL meter is used. This meter is a 3-step switching type of average, peak and peak hold.
Equipped with functions such as end repeat, memory stop / play, counter repeat, absence recording mechanism, bias adjustment mechanism, and Dolby system.
