Commentary
This is a bookshelf type speaker system developed by Edmund A. May who worked on the LE8T of JBL.
A 10-inch (approximately 25 cm) cone woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit aims to produce cone paper with a hardness that can provide accurate vibration in any case. It uses a cone specially ordered from Horley Co., a famous manufacturer specializing in cone paper molding. Ten different types of fibrous materials are mixed with a special dye and a constant pressure and heat are applied at the same time to produce a cone with an excellent hardness that can withstand 100G.
In addition, a foamed roll edge with excellent follow-up is used for the edge.
A 1.75 inch (approximately 4.5 cm) cone-type tweeter is installed in the high range.
It uses a unique phenolic resin material and realizes high sound that suppresses harsh high-end peaks.
In the network section, the speaker is regarded as a compound of resistance and inductance, and a unique conjugate circuit is incorporated with the impedance characteristics of the network itself as an important point to realize flat impedance characteristics.
The enclosure uses high density particleboards and has a natural wood finish.
A speaker stand was included as standard.
